INTERVIEW: PANDHORA

An interview with Pandhora [Art Vibs]

Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music?

Amine grew up in Tunisia & Rémi in France. We met during engineer school back in 2010. After graduation in 2015, we decided to pursue our dream and started Pandhora. We’ve always been into music. Playing instruments and listening to different genres. It felt like a natural step to start our own music adventure. I feel like the underground scene will continue to persist. Do you think we can go back to "normal" events and festivals?

We are hopeful that things will get gradually & slowly better. Not sure what normal means anymore but we are wishing to go back to gathering with friends and playing music for the dancefloor. Ah, nostalgia... How is your sound evolving? What artists and genres do you enjoy mixing right now? Our sound is always evolving and very eclectic. Most of the times we start songs while jamming with guitar & piano. We usually don’t plan ahead what we'll do. I guess it keeps the process interesting and exciting… While allowing us to improvise and experiment.

Currently we’ve been listening to a lot of old school rock but also enjoying a couple new albums such as « Tako Tsubo » from French band l'Imperatrice. How do you feel that your music influences or impacts your listeners? We think each listener experiences our music differently. Everyone will have its own interpretation. We feel our music is very introspective, ever evolving & sometimes surprising. Anyone can find its own message and if it helps that person, then our job is complete! What projects are you working on right now? Currently, we’re finishing 2 EPs in two different sub-genres: Melodic Techno & Organic House. We also have a dozen drafts for a first album - a project we initially thought would see daylight in 2021. Realistically, this is gonna happen in 2022. We will work on this project during summer as we’ll spend 6 weeks together in Tunisia. Crystallizing these years into an album sounds super exciting and would be a great step for Pandhora. What makes you happy? Usually making music makes us happy when we’re not obsessing over tiny little mix details… In general, connecting with people and collaborating with like-minded producers and artists is a great inspiration and mood booster! Our lifestyle is pretty simple, we find happiness in nature, meditation, (sometimes) sports, music work, and relationships with loved ones. Do you have any final words of wisdom?

Waking up every day being excited to « go to work » is a blessing. There is nothing more rewarding than nurturing your own project and seeing your vision unfold a little bit more each and every day. Et Voilà for the words of wisdom!
