INTERVIEW: Gravitone

Gravitone is a Milanese collective and label focused on techno, electronics and breaks. After a string of singles released between 2020 and 2021, we are excited to power our first Ep.

Natural Landscape is written and produced by Giovanni Sirtori, a young talent born in Milan. The sound of him has a dance floor attitude while being influenced by big names like Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Max Cooper.

We have had the pleasure of interviewing him and this has been the result.

What was the first thing that attracted you to the world of electronic music?

The thing that I immediately liked about electronic music is the side chain effect between the kick and the bass or the various pads. That compression effect won me over immediately

Do you remember any album or concert that has changed everything?

There is no doubt, Paul kalkbrenner's Berlin calling was the album that changed everything.

Since you got into this professionally, what did you miss the most nationally, internationally and on the contrary, what helped you the most to grow, even to believe in yourself?

I honestly think I haven't entered this professional field yet, there is still a long way to go. The thing that helped me most to grow was listening to a lot of music and following the advice of other artists with more experience and technique than me.

How is the music scene living in your city with this murky pandemic situation?

It is difficult, but we will return to listening to live music as before

What are your favorite places to hang out in the city?

Milanese suburbs, vice the saying "less is more”

Have you had time to focus on making music, spending time with your family, or planning future projects?

The pandemic has extended the time, I had more space for music.

How was your last project born?

During the pandemic these four songs were born, all with a vision of nature.

What do you want to convey in this work? What is the concept behind?

Behind it is the idea that we have forgotten what "relationship with nature" means, we have forgotten its presence. We need to renew the relationship with him.

As for your studio, what is your setup currently made of?

Very simple, the minimum that can be dispensed.

What would you say is the definition of your sound?

It is difficult to answer this question. Right now I think it's Evolution

What was the last record store you visited and what did you get out there?

Massive music store in Milan, I got a bob Marley vinyl.
