With zayith, Antonio Muñoz delivers more than just a record — he offers a meditative journey, grounded in the sacred heritage of the olive tree. As part of his broader Sendero project, which intertwines Ambient, Downtempo, Trance, Tribal, Psy, Dub, and Organic textures, this release turns towards the deep, intricate realms of Deep Techno, crafting ten original tracks that are both solid in structure and fluid in spirit.
The olive tree, or Zayith in Hebrew, has long been regarded as a bridge between the earthly and the divine, and Muñoz captures this essence in sound. Just as olive oil once anointed the sacred in ancient rituals, these tracks seem to anoint the listener, washing over them in waves of sonic warmth and spiritual resonance. The compositions evolve like the life of the olive tree itself — rooted, enduring, and full of quiet strength — while subtle shifts in tone and rhythm mirror the cycles of nature.
This is techno with purpose, not just presence. It speaks of heritage and timelessness, and yet it feels entirely contemporary, its deep basslines and airy synth motifs weaving an atmosphere that is equally suitable for contemplation and movement. With zayith, Muñoz does not just create music; he extends an invitation to connect — to history, to nature, and to something far greater than ourselves.
