Zhannet is a bright presence on the Ukrainian music scene, quickly winning hearts with her unique voice and heartfelt emotion. She isn’t afraid to experiment, blending pop and has already gained fans among both young and mature audiences. In this exclusive interview, Zhannet shares her creative journey, the impact of the war, her future plans, and what music means to her.
Zhannet, tell us how your musical journey began?
— Music has always been a part of me. Since childhood, I sang at home, in school, at small contests. My family supported me, but the real push came when I started recording my first tracks in the studio. From then on, I knew this was my calling. I love that through songs I can share my feelings and connect with people.
How has the war influenced your creativity?
— The war changed everything. It brought pain, fear, but also incredible strength and motivation to create. I started writing deeper lyrics, talking about hope, faith in victory, and supporting each other. My music became not just entertainment, but a message for those who need light in the darkness.
You already have several hits popular on TikTok and social media. How do you feel about this kind of popularity?
— It’s incredibly pleasant and comes with responsibility. Social media allows me to be closer to my audience and see their reactions in real time. I try to stay honest with myself and my listeners, never forgetting the most important thing — music and the emotions it conveys.
What music style do you prefer and why?
— I love mixing genres — from gentle pop. I enjoy experimenting and searching for my unique sound. For me, music has to be alive and sincere, so every song can tell a story.
What do you value most about your audience?
— Their openness and support. I’m very grateful to everyone who listens to my songs, shares them, and draws inspiration from them. That motivates me to keep going and create even better work.
What are your plans for the near future?
— I’m working on a new album, planning several big concerts, want to collaborate more with other artists, and develop my brand. I dream of my music reaching beyond Ukraine’s borders.
Where do you find inspiration for your creativity?
— Inspiration is everywhere — in people, nature, everyday moments, even difficult times in life. I’m learning to listen to myself and the world around me, and that helps me write honest songs.
What would you advise young artists who are just starting out?
— Believe in yourself, don’t be afraid to try and make mistakes. Music is above all honesty and emotions. Don’t look for easy paths, work hard on yourself and your sound — and everything will definitely work out.
