A suitably bold move by Duke Boara, so early in his already successful career (over 5 million streaming stats), with his '11AM/11PM Tapes' double-mixtape project. The first drop featuring 'All Winter' (11AM) and 'Switch' (11PM) is out now on LG105, champions of alternative electronic talent like Mall Grab, Effy, Beka, Lawrence Hart, bad tuner and Model Man.

At just 23 years old, multi-instrumentalist/producer Duke Boara, aka James Toomey, has curated 26 tracks for morning and night; he expects a genre mix of lo-fi, breakbeat, melodic, summer-infused house, percussion… and playing piano, guitar and drums throughout.

First release 'All Winter' (11am) features a pure and simple acoustic guitar tune reminiscent of falling snow, spiced with sitar sounds. Elegiac but optimistic. 'Switch' (11PM) is a late night friendly switch to a funkier groove, with a jazzy staccato synth and heavy percussion, in a build/break structure, one for the dance floor.

Also included are Toomey's previous hits 'Wairau Bay' (2.7m streams on Spotify), 'Rain' (1.2m), 'Talking to Strangers', 'Bring the Gold' and his debut 'Focus' (with Radio 1 support). ).

Five years living and traveling in Asia allowed world music and instruments like the sitar to enrich the style of Toomey, a West Country boy, now based in London, who obsessively learned to produce while at university on Tyneside.
