Spanish talent Ismaso serves up two steamy, Latin-influenced house gems Motel Calypso Records is the label off-shoot of a Milan-based party in a secret room at Rocket Club
Sevilla-born Ismael Sosa is the man behind Ismaso, an alias that has served up a wealth of essential house sounds over the last decade-plus. They have often found their way into tastemaking record bags owned by the likes of Roger Sanchez and come on labels like Happy Techno Music, Ibiza Global Records, Inmotion and many more. Ibiza based since 2014, Ismaso is a regular in the island's best clubs and has also played across Europe. First up is 'Que Pasa’, a raw and kicking cut with rugged drum funk underpinning chopped up vocals. It's a fiery tech house sound with Spanish vocals and a taught bassline that never lets up, and the whole thing brims with prickly percussive details and irresistible energy. 'Subbo' has more expertly programmed drums that are tight and kinetic, with twisted electronics worming in and out of the beats. More clipped vocals amp up the energy and bring a steamy Latin flair over fat bass. It's pure heat for peak-time dance floors. Ismaso's 'Que Pasa'/'Subbo' comes on Motel Calypso Records on March 28th 2025.
