With Birth of Light, S-Pazz illuminate their sound’s emotional core through a cinematic fusion of jazz, house, and broken beat. Written during a period of transition, the EP feels like a story of renewal — one where movement and memory coexist in balance. “Ce Matin-Là” opens this narrative with sweeping strings performed by Nathan’s father, introducing a dreamy, orchestral world reminiscent of Air or Bonobo. Tour-Maubourg’s remix then melts it into bossa-tinged warmth, carrying the listener to a sunlit horizon.
From the syncopated pulse of “Together” to the jazz-funk glow of “My Heart”, each piece thrives on texture and spontaneity. “Bees Die After Stinging” stands out as a miniature symphony — its 6/8 groove and field recordings weave natural rhythm into modern jazz. Finally, “Ocean Reflections” drifts beyond the club sphere, closing the record on a note of introspection and fluidity. With this second EP, S-Pazz prove that their evolving sound is not just danceable — it’s deeply human.
