REVIEW: Moonwalk & Alessio Cristiano presenta Butterfly EP

The Purified Records label has been shown, in its long journey, by a clear commitment to a typology of music producers, which if something characterizes them is their irregularity, focused on their search for multiple unstable paths and that, weathering the storm, reap successes and incorporating everything that experience gives them, they suddenly come up with proposals as unique and surprising as their own personal trajectory. They work attentively to detect when it is time to enter the studio with the artists to turn everything upside down...

London-based producer Alessio Cristiano teams up with Italian duo Moonwalk for a heavenly two-track EP, 'Butterfly'. Building tension and mystery with sparse instrumentation and swaying synths, the title track twists and turns throughout its length. Continuing its sonic journey, 'Infinity' enters an otherworldly dimension with airy pads and euphoric melodies, juxtaposed by deep, rumbling basses.

Both producers have long built a name in music that spans multiple genres. Diversity in music is at its core. The sound of both has a common characteristic recognized by recurring themes; the nostalgia, the melody and the cosmic depth, that drags you, but without losing energy.

Both producers consolidate themselves in this work with a more refined sound, but also raised from a creative point of view necessary to avoid falling into torpor or boredom, to which the genre tended by inertia. From each note arises a cluster of harmonic and melodic beauty, where the sounds evolve as we approach the central corpus of the theme, maintaining a constant rhythm, which makes us keep our feet on the ground, while the rest of the sounds free us. and shoot us to the beyond

'Butterfly' has shown us this once again, because in turbulent times, good music isn't just made of electronic darkness.
