Manchester's Sprechen celebrates 10th Anniversary with LP ft PBR Streetgang, A Certain Ration Linstrom & The Thief Of Time...

Sprechen Music bring you the fantastic compilation Ein Null, to celebrate their tenth anniversary, available from 19^th September. Let’s go on a trip through time. 

Press play on Utopia Strong by Old Mathers and climb inside your time machine as the hypnotic, low tempo soundscape surrounds you. You awake ten years ago, in 2015. 

The Golden Lion in Todmorden opens its doors. Your soundtrack: A Certain Ratio - Faster But Slower. Feel the bongos and deep bass build that vibe around you, and oh, those horns…

Some 20-odd miles south, Cloudwater are brewing their first batch of beer. Nearby, Supernature Disco are rocking a party. Most importantly to you, dear time traveller, Chris Massey has just started Sprechen. In his bedroom. Léna C - Pelago’s bright marimbas playing, taking Chris by the hand and leading him to where the wild things are.

What has followed over the next decade, is a wild ride of amazing people, memorable (though fuzzy!) parties, creativity, art, expression, performance and at the centre of it all of course, the music. Including Low Pulse - Pillowtalk (Radio Edit). Fresh, poppy with effortlessly sweet and soulful vocals with a few Factory presets. Gorgeous stuff. 

Sprechen has never been one style or sound. A reflection of varied musical tastes without any limitations of style or genres, just a passion to share good music. Such as Psychederek Hopes & Dreams – a tune and no  mistaking, mantric vocals ascending synths that range from intense to euphoric and trippy. Which leads us to Massey & Supernature - Walk...Now Walk. The Sprechen supremo teaming up to provide a mighty fine slice of yessmate acid disco chug, with lyrics originally from a certain six foot drag queen. 

Over the last decade, Sprechen has been lucky enough to both work with and meet many like-minded cosmic creatives that share this mindset and that have all played a major role in the story. Like Gina Breeze - Acid Strings which does what it says on the tin. Relaxed and intense at the same time, like the industrial heartbeat of Manchester itself. 

Lindstrøm & The Thief Of Time - Escape Into Neon feat. Lady Lady comes soaring in, like a jetplane into Ringway. Clean, upbeat with dreamy Sumneresque vocals. 

Each and every artist on Ein Null - 10 Years of Sprechen has played a huge role in shaping the Sprechen sound and aesthetic over the last decade. Sprechen is a diverse and varied label that connects the invisible dots between seemingly distant styles. PBR Streetgang - Chasin Perry brings this brilliant compilation to a close, with a slice of robot funk wider than the factory gates. Belter.
